Numbers and Emotions<\/em> is a book for children from 18 months to 4 years old<\/strong>. The book’s author, Sandra Alonso<\/strong>, is a kindergarten teacher who has managed to bring two essential learning topics together in a single book: children learn the shape of the numbers and are introduced to ten different emotions. Using a gesture or idea for each emotion helps children to internalize and express them.<\/p>\n

The book features numbers from one through ten, printed in low relief so children can use their fingers to follow the numbers’ shapes. Each number is matched with an emotion and a gesture or concept<\/strong>. It helps children to\u00a0learn numbers by following their shape with their fingers and introduces them to up to ten different emotions<\/strong>. The text is written in\u00a0UPPERCASE letters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Since you can do a bit of theater as you tell it, gesturing the emotions, it is a fun story that can be used to explain feelings to little ones. The bright, block color backgrounds highlight the illustrations for young readers.<\/p>\n

The book’s illustrator, Alicia Teba<\/strong><\/a>, has accompanied the text with fantastic and sweet illustrations that stand out against the colorful backgrounds.<\/p>\n
